“Happiness is being halfway through the week.”

It’s such an honor to be part of the Millionaire’s Digest Contribution Team, and to kick things off for my first post, I thought I’d share a little bit of inspiration and education to the day. It is Wednesday, and wisdom and life changing leadership is what a lot of people strive for in this day and age along with its association to the popular phrase Hump Day. Wednesday has become sort of a social media celebration of having reached halfway through the week, so this is for you, readers, lovers, writers and groupies: Have a humpy inspiring Wednesday filled with life changing wisdom.

Things You didn’t Know About Wednesday

  • The name Wednesday comes from two very distinct gods. Woden’ and Mercury’.
  • The Old English word for Wednesday reveals how the day was named for the Germanic god Woden also known as ‘Odin’.
  • Whilst in Roman culture, Wednesday comes from Roman god Mercury.
  • In Scandinavian culture, it is said that Woden supervised the creation of the earth and sky from the dead body of a giant named ‘Ymir’.
  • Woden is also said to have created the first man and woman from a tree and an alder.
  • And if that wasn’t enough, Woden also established the laws of the universe.
  • Woden was said to be the Chief god of the pagan Anglo-Saxons.
  • On the other hand, Mercury was the messenger to the gods.
  • His other key roles included being the patron of science, athletes and the arts.
  • Today, Mercury is probably one of the most recognized of all the gods and is usually thought to have worn his signature winged helmet and sandals.

Fun Fact: Round about the year of 1965, Wednesday was attributed to hump day’. Mic dropped in the middle of a normal work week, it symbolizes that we’ve survived the journey over the hump and the weekend is on our fingertips.

And on that bombshell, here’s to another special hump day: ‘not as depressing as Monday, not as exciting as Friday’.
