When talking about fear, the first step is to face it. But how do we do that? Probably, step 0 would be to keep in mind that fear is a normal reaction of protection, be it physical or emotional.

1. Don’t fear fear. We all feel it, it’s part of the chemistry package we our made of, thus embedded in our DNA. Fear is one of the “survival triggers” to us living beings, therefore no need to mystify it.

2. Fear and freeze? Bad combination. The aftermath will be even worse, as the effects will be much more amplified turning into: dread, anguish, desperation. You will load yourself with unnecessary emotional burden. Spare yourself the devastating results.

3. Fear and “run”? In case you are not running for your life, I really hope that’s not the case, then again it is a bad combination, you can’t run forever. It means you are constantly changing directions, which will lead you nowhere.

4. Point 2 + Point 3 = Waste of (time+energy). Simple math.

5. Going on by exclusion? What option is left? Face  Fear. Yes. Do yourself a favor and be pragmatic. It’s an obstacle, overpass it and move forward to the next level. Just the courage to face and admit it, means you have a chance of getting out of your comfort zone.

6. Read again from point 1 to point 5, building healthy habits of  positive thinking is not an easy task.  It requires practice and for that to happen willpower and hard work are needed, but it’s worth it.

    1. That’s a very good question maryhopes. Not too long ago as a matter of fact. Fear was preventing me from speaking up, overthinking all possible repurcussions. How did I go about it? I thought:”What if I had no fear? What would happen?” “What will happen, if I choose to live in fear? Probably I will get stuck in it for tons of other times. Will that make me suffer and feel miserable? Yes. Will it make it difficult in the future? Yes. If I choose fear, would it be right for me? No. Do I want to live that way? No. Would that be a good example for me and others eventually? No. Am I making a mistake? Maybe, but I am trying to be stronger and better for myself.”
Tell me what you think about it 😊 hope it helps 😄😄😄

      1. I like how you go about it. You asked yourself all the right and difficult questions, and answered all of them. Whether you give into fear or not, you know what you are getting yourself into.

  1. I love this. Fear is such a problem for many, but the magic behind it, is that it’s a complete illusion of our mind. Fear will often dissapate by simply “facing our fears” – hence the phrase. If we maintain confidence even through adversity, fear will be replaced with empowerment for what we are capable of.

    1. Hi Eccentric Elayne, thank you for your thoughtful comment. Yes, it’s true. Most of the time unfortunately fear is just a small step right before greatness. It would be a waste, not to overcome and reach for what we deeply want.
