It can sometimes seem as though rich folk profit from everything – if there’s a crisis, some guy will have made a whole chunk of change betting on it.
But success in the financial markets is temporary – mainly because, once you’ve tasted success, of any kind, you always want more – and, in the markets, that means you will, eventually, inevitably, lose.
There is a way to make money, and ALWAYS succeed, however – and that’s by understanding that any crisis does two things; it polarizes opinion, and, by implication, people, and, while a minority will always welcome polarization and separation, a crisis leaves most people shattered, and wanting to find wholeness in one another.
Thanks to the rise of technology, you can easily plan, promote and host an event, publish a book, or release an album, in a matter of days, if not hours
This is how you make money, make a name, AND make an impact – in the aftermath of a crisis, you do things that bring people together, give them a good time, a lot of laughs, and remind them of what they share.
The crisis will eventually become nothing more than history, discussed by academics, remembered by a few – the coming-together, the restoration after the crisis, that’s what endures.
That’s what you want to go out and create.
It may be a party. It may be a festival. Perhaps it’s a book, an album, or a website.
Just do it. Make sure it’s there.
Make sure you’re there – the lighthouse in the storm of crisis’ aftermath.
