Let’s be honest – social pressure, as well as stress, chase us tirelessly in our daily routine. They ruin our emotional condition and interfere with our conduct. They also distract us from our real purpose. Not to mention their effect is essentially detrimental to our health and well-being.

How do you reduce these negative feelings?

First, you have to realize they are FAKE.When you think about it pressure is unreal, it only exists on the problematic side of our mind. You were born free! However, the beliefs and expectations imposed on you by your society are the foundations of stress. What I mean is that we set goals and even dreams which are not entirely ours – they are implemented by our community.

It’s not easy dealing with this problem. You have to go a long way into discovering yourself, your passions and your actual path. Then the hardest part is to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! Don’t be afraid, listen to yourself and just do it!And remember that in life the greatest people are not the ones who escape from difficulties but the ones who face them!

All my life I have stressed about bullshit – School, teachers, grades, competitions, being cool in the face of others, knowing everything and pleasing everyone! And right now I realize it’s all fake! I focus on protecting my values, following my path and believing in myself! I advise you to do the same – it can change your life completely!

  1. This article reminded me of the article I published lately on my blog, and after reading it I feel like I’m seeing the mountaintop again. 🙂 Thank you for this wonderful read. The protecting-my-values part of your article struck me deep being a student in a university where I feel like moral values in a class of extra bright students are being undermined. #SocialPressureAtItsFinest

    1. What I mean by saying “fake” is the people and institutions trying to force their beliefs on you thus preventing you to reveal your inner self as well as your true potential. Having in mind the schools in my country I can claim that they offer a curriculum with virtually no practical or essential knowledge for students. Therefore the expectations in the form of tests wrapped around the useless information they consist of can be proclaimed as fake and tremendously stressful. Not to mention that the grading system around the world is little or no objective and teachers in charge of it are relentlessly trying to gain respect by using measures of control and provoking fear. Isn’t this just ridiculous?
However.. Trying to deal with this tough situation can result in a positive change in your life. And it is necessarily true you won’t meet a cool teacher able to help you develop in terms of your personal quest.

      1. I agree with what you all said.. Yes, people putting so much expectations, stereotype, what society will think, making a good image and many more does not let us do what we love and have true potential for.. I guess, I have suffered from it too. But I try to change people around me, dear to me but it’s quite a difficult take. Mindset once made is really difficult to change.. And there is fear of change too in people’s mind that prevents them in found so..
