Do you feel that you have control over your life and the power to shape your destiny? How do you deal with the ebb and flow of life’s ups and downs?

People with a strong sense of control over their lives tend to be more relaxed and self-confident. They are more connected to their emotions, self-regulating and motivated to achieve results. They believe that they’ve got the power to influence their outcomes.

4. Commitment

Are you committed to achieving your outcomes? Do you set goals and work consistently to achieve them, even when you experience setbacks?

  1. I think optimism is one feature for mentally strong people too. It was the first that crossed my mind.. But a very good post nonetheless, I agree with the self control part vehemently.


  2. I really like this.
    Control is an interesting word… We mentally tough, determined and successful folks indeed can keep our cool and make sure we have charge of our lives. Yet the Yin side of my entrepreneur-self, relaxes more when surrendering and knowing the only real thing we have control over is our choices (which I read this as that’s where you are coming from) I’ve worked 30 years in a people-service industry too though. Nothing will make you realize faster that you have little “control” than working with humans. lol
