My feet are on solid ground.

We traveled through a city of lost people.
Cold steel, glass prisons, weapons of cement.
You tell me that you don’t understand how people can live this way.
You are not of this world. And because of you, neither am I.

When your arms fold around me, I believe in a purpose.
I believe in a life outside of the prisons.
I believe in a love that will keep me warm when the cement freezes my feet.
I believe in a reality that is much more than the harsh steel.
I know you are here.

Even now, as you leave, I feel your arms around me.
The proud tears in your eyes gleam in mine;
I will share that love with every soul I meet.

This is who we are.
We are always a family.
I love you.
