When we think of vision statements, it’s usually in regards to business.
But what if we used them for our lives as well?
Creating a personal vision statement can give us an incredible amount of guidance and purpose in our lives. It acts as the light shining in the darknsss, illuminating our path so that we may make conscious and intentional choices that place us where we wish to be.
I am a huge fan of vision statements. I’ve made and tweaked my own throughout my life, shifting and transforming it as I myself shift and transform. They do not have to be set in stone, in fact they shouldn’t! That can often hold us back especially as we are always changing.
When beginning to create your own, there are some questions you may ask yourself to get clear about what your vision statement may encompass:
- What do you most enjoy doing?
- What must you do every day to feel fulfilled?
- What are your most important values?
- When you pass, what will you regret not doing, seeing, or achieving?
- What is one goal for each aspect of your life? Some aspects may be your physicality, spirituality, creativity, family, career, self-improvement, or recreation.
Once you’ve figured out these answers, you can begin. Make statements in the first person and remember to use present tense – as though you are already achieving these things.
Writing your personal vision statement gives power to and lends a sense of commitment to accomplishing them. I invite you to place yours in a space you are in often. This may be a mirror in your room, on the refrigerator, or at your desk. Each time you see it solidifies the vision and reminds you of what is important and necessary for you to stay on your unique and Divine path.
When we routinely remind ourselves of our vision and do our best to live in accordance to it, inner peace, joy, and fulfillment seems to find their way in at every corner.
What is your personal vision statement?

Can’t emphasize enough how helpful this is. I recently started working out and attempting to eat healthier, and it’s easier for me when I set goals for myself and visualize what I’ll feel and look like in the future. It gives me something to look forward to, which is honestly kind of fun 🙂
Thanks for sharing! Great read!
