Time is a common denominator to every life. And it can tell to a large extent, what we do with our lives. That’s why folks say “a fool at forty,” (some say fourteen) “…is a fool forever!” I guess the point they are trying to make is that your life is meaningless if you remain…unproductive at a certain age. Man is an expressive being; created to ‘do something,’ especially in his youth, when he is still physically and mentally strong to face oppositions. Timing is critical to existence.

It doesn’t matter how much support you get from friends and family. Folks can get you everything you want on a golden platter and you might never have to sweat your way through life like many others, but in the long run, only you can choose what to do with your own life.
There are basically four things you can do with your life:

Waste it

When you spend your time wondering or dreaming dreams without corresponding action, you can be sure you’re wasting your life.

Spend it

Simply put, spending your life is moving with the crowd and getting lost in it. You can move with the crowd from time to time, that’s fine, as long as you know how to retreat when you should. Whatever your crowd is – money, job, other people’s opinion – will choke you if you can’t find your voice in it.
You can spend your life when you’re constantly busy…doing nothing. A spent life is one that is full of activities, but without any significant accomplishment.

Invest it

Investing in yourself is a wise decision, especially when you’re looking to add value. But folks invest their lives only to become better for selfish reasons. They get all they can; can all they get, and sit on the can!
When you’re passionate about certain truths but selective in sharing or you don’t even share at all, there’s a huge chance that you are only investing your life.

Live it

You are truly living when your life is significant, not just to you, but to many others. We are meant to be solution providers in a world where problems are as real and as constant as daylight. You don’t have to be another Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, or Mark Zuckerberg to make the world a better place. Do the things you can do the best way you can do them. And that might be the saving grace of someone.

“Live Life to the fullest.” This is what I believe in.
One You, One Chance with One Life. So why to waste it?
Let’s celebrate each moment of our lives 🙂

  3. I like that you are getting people to think about this. I like to say that a fulfilled life is one where you invest in others. Sure you reap benefits, but the blessing you can be to someone else is priceless. Volunteer, become a mentor, donate time to a ministry, etc… I’ve done all these things and have been most humbled by the experience. Good article and good point!
