I’ve been there, I feel like a lot of people have. The time in your life where you either watch an inspirational movie or see someone on Instagram with an amazing physique and think “I’m going to get on my gym grind and get shredded!”. So the next week you start up and begin to actually enjoy yourself with the health benefits that come along with exercise, but after that initial week or month is up you quickly realize that it’s a very challenging and long commitment if you want to get results. This realization causes so many to become discouraged and slowly drift away from the gym, I went through this stage 3 times my first year of training before I fully engaged myself. It’s a vicious cycle that will keep you in it’s path unless you find these 3 key factors.

“I believe in the person I want to become.”

New years resolutions are aspects of yourself and life that you want to improve on or add to. It’s an opportunity for greater success with some people but for others, it may be a sinking pit to an inevitable failure. Here is how to set goals for the new year that will last.

Firstly it is essential to realize the things that you have held yourself back from this past year, things like speaking to people, taking a chance or building a career. There are millions of reasons(shyness, laziness, fear) that may have stopped you from doing them and it is important to recognize those factors so you can improve on them this year.

Secondly, think about the new traits/actions that you want to adopt into your life. Use the habits that successful people in your niche have incorporated into their lives. Remember not to use like 100 ways to upgrade yourself as that is not very realistic. Pick an amount that you feel you will stick to and achieve.

The last part of making real new years resolutions is writing them down. Creating some type of physical list with your resolutions allows you to visibly see them every day which will be a constant reminder of who you want to become. A crucial part of writing each one down is to also write how you’re going to accomplish each goal.

Examples:

1. Begin working out, I will start by going to the gym every weekday

2. Not letting fear control me, I will do something that scares me every month

3. Make more money, I will work overtime and make money online

Let me know if you found this advice helpful and comment what your new year’s resolutions are!!

“When was the last time you did something for the first time.”

A few months ago, my sister and I got the amazing opportunity to walk along the outside of the CN tower in Toronto. The moment I found out that you could literally walk on the outside of a building at 1168ft above the ground I knew I had to experience it. To me, it didn’t matter what the cost was or how high up we would be, I just needed to do it so I took advantage of the chance that presented itself.
