Prof. Chomsky didn’t seem at all in a battle to set the tone during and demonstrate who has the upper hand when it comes to knowledge & experience; he was sitting in total ease, calmly and peacefully with a self filled with confidence. You volunteer your time and energy to an organization. You are younger than all of your fellow volunteers. You are really called the, “baby,” of the group but, something is off. You have this suspicious feeling that your age is preventing the seasoned volunteers from seeing you for what your resume and experience says you are: deserving.
Thursday night, all of these feelings came to a heated discussion in the Executive Council meeting for my alumni association. My Alumni president decided, not to attend the national convention in Chicago, two weeks ago. We were going to be left with no representation from our local chapter.
