If there is a single point that you pull from the crazy rants that I spill on this blog it is this one thing.

If you are on stage, in front of a client or in a classroom, be yourself there. There is nothing in this world that will make everyone that you are speaking to disengage faster than a fake persona on the stage. More importantly, then that though is NOTHING will engage an audience faster than someone who is comfortable enough to be themselves. If you are honest and authentic then they will engage.

50 Thoughts that Can Motivate You to Do Anything (5 min read)

1. I can do anything. It’s a simple phrase, but it helps to remind yourself — you really can do anything you set your mind to.

2. This is why I can. Instead of giving yourself reasons why you can’t do something, give yourself reasons why you can.

3. I deserve more. You deserve a better life — whether that means a better job, a healthier body or more money. Work for it.

So, what do I want to talk about? Hmm..
There’s this saying,

“You get back what you give.”

It’s true, but what’s even more true is that you get back more than you give. Sounds good, but it’s not that simple. I wish it was.. Well I don’t. Actually it’s the best how it is. It’s really great and awesome if we give, so that is important, to give.

Try a New Approach

Step by step and the thing is done -Charles Atlas
Be what you are. This is the first step toward becoming better than you are – Julius Charles Hare

While there are many motivational quotes to choose from, some stand out more so than others. Perhaps, because they are simple and to the point. Personally, I like to think I can take away a useful message from motivation quotes, poems, and articles, however, I’m not willing to spend my time on stuff I already know.

But, with that said, I still am drawn to anything in writing that relates to motivation. I assume this is because, even though the subject is a popular one for writers, it is an upbeat topic that is usually motivating. Or at least, I hope so since I scan a lot of articles, etc. Yes, I admit to it.

Another admission of mine is I am almost addicted to social media. I say almost because I’m not a Facebook follower nor am I enthralled with reading about anyone’s life online. Now hear me out because I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that, it’s just not my cup of tea.

So exactly what does motivate me? Well, I like to set mini goals and/or take a step by step approach to everything I do. Sure, some of my endeavors require only one step, but others may need more thought. This is where my step by step attitude kicks in. My motivation stems from completing one goal and being able to make a smooth transition to the next.

So, with all of this chit chat about thoughts, goals and motivation, the most important step is that we do this for ourselves. We may take steps and set goals to help others or to complete a job for others, but not for the sake of others. In my humble opinion, this is essential for a realistic approach to motivation.

Color your day for your, yourself and you not for the sake of someone else.

Cheers!
