Efficient Effectiveness (2 min read)

Ok broham, we’ve got a little something to talk about today.

This actually came up in my private Facebook group
So I thought it’d be a great idea to share my thoughts with
Everyone, since I believe this is something very important
That we all should know.

Ok so there’s 3 things that I think that we should all know.
Two of them they teach early on in school, but unfortunately
The third, not so much.
What are they?
Pretty simple really…

Addition, Subtraction, and the 80/20 rule or
As it’s formally called, Pareto principle
The first two (I hope) you already know, but the last one
You may not be so familiar with.
So let me break it down in our language so we can talk…

The 80/20 principle is simply about the law of averages.
It’s actually a principle of nature that is based on chaos theory.
Essentially what it amounts to is that 20% of what you do is
Going to amount to 80% of your results

It’s something you see everywhere.
20% of the population has 80% of the wealth
The average person uses 20% of their apps 80% of the time
20% of the clothes you wear probably 80% of the time
Contractors use only 20% of their tools for 80% of their work.

You see it everywhere and when you understand what it is
You can use it to help you in everyday life.

First of all, you will see that in nature nothing can be equal
So, if you’re hoping for a society where everyone has equal
Wealth or what have you, then you’ll be fighting nature
And that my friend, is a tough battle.

For the full potential of the 80/20 rule, it’s just a matter
Of doing whatever it is that you are good at and get better.
Pretty simple right?!

Not everyone can be a billionaire, but if everyone works to
Their fullest potential by finding power through strength
Then everyone can and will eventually help society
Become stronger as a whole.

So do yourself (and society) a favor and stop living in the 80%

First, know yourself. Or as Socrates put it: “Know Thyself”
Sounds a little vague, but you can gain clarity by first
Getting in touch with yourself (ha…touch yourself) with
Daily meditation and exercise.
It doesn’t take long, but it has a huge benefit on your psyche
And helps you produce amazing results in every part of your life.

When I am frustrated I simply do some things to help me recover me such as:

  • Go to the bathroom and take a long bath.
  • Draw something, even though I don’t know what I’m drawing.
  • Take a few deep breaths.
  •  Listen to songs and poems, or watch a good movie either alone or with my friends.

Good afternoon, beautiful people. I know I share so much, but to share on a deeper level: I really don’t believe in “New Year’s Resolutions.” Those are temporary and are usually superficial. No. I engage in New Year’s Transformations. I have been through a lot in recent years, and 2016 wasn’t any different. Friends came and went; lovers or potentials came and went; creative projects succeeded or failed. I laughed a lot; I cried a lot. I worked hard, I had fun. I loved. When I love, I love DEEP. I don’t play with hearts and I keep it real; even though you will run into those who don’t have the courage to do the same. That’s just a part of life. But through all the joy and pain, I kept true to myself. As for me. I was TINA. I am still Tina. I will always be me. I am a stronger, wiser, healthier version of me, but I am still here. I survived so many things with a smile through the tears, because I decided a long time ago that no one will make me feel down on myself. Ever. I love what I love, I am who I am, I love who I am. You should love who you are. Continue reading Goodbye, Resolutions: Hello, Transformations (2 min read)

If  I ask you how 2016 treated you, are you are proud to say that it’s been a great year? I hope you are. Did you fulfill all your goals? Is there an additional member of your family? Did you gain a lot of friends? Have you fast-track your career? These are the things that we ask before we leave the current year. Of course, we are all looking forward to a great start of the new year but we should also take a moment to reflect and acknowledge all the wonderful things the year 2016 gave us. I remember posting this last year on Facebook the exact same day as today; Continue reading New Year, New Beginnings (3 min read)
