“I believe in the person I want to become.”

New years resolutions are aspects of yourself and life that you want to improve on or add to. It’s an opportunity for greater success with some people but for others, it may be a sinking pit to an inevitable failure. Here is how to set goals for the new year that will last.

Firstly it is essential to realize the things that you have held yourself back from this past year, things like speaking to people, taking a chance or building a career. There are millions of reasons(shyness, laziness, fear) that may have stopped you from doing them and it is important to recognize those factors so you can improve on them this year.

Secondly, think about the new traits/actions that you want to adopt into your life. Use the habits that successful people in your niche have incorporated into their lives. Remember not to use like 100 ways to upgrade yourself as that is not very realistic. Pick an amount that you feel you will stick to and achieve.

The last part of making real new years resolutions is writing them down. Creating some type of physical list with your resolutions allows you to visibly see them every day which will be a constant reminder of who you want to become. A crucial part of writing each one down is to also write how you’re going to accomplish each goal.

Examples:

1. Begin working out, I will start by going to the gym every weekday

2. Not letting fear control me, I will do something that scares me every month

3. Make more money, I will work overtime and make money online

Let me know if you found this advice helpful and comment what your new year’s resolutions are!!

Happy New Year’s everyone!  The New Year brings with it an opportunity to start anew.  In our culture, it is quite common to make New Year’s resolutions.  The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a resolution as “the act of finding an answer or solution to a conflict, problem, etc.”  A resolution is basically a goal.  I think it is great that people use the New Year to make resolutions.  Having goals for oneself is always encouraged.  People relate well to cycles; a new year is essentially the natural beginning of a cycle, thus a relatively convenient time to set goals.  Obviously, we should not confine resolutions or goals to New Year’s Day.  We should all be in a state of continually developing and progressing ourselves.

Let’s finally admit, once and for all, that no one keeps New Year’s resolutions. (Well, okay, maybe a handful of perfectionists, and a couple of motivated-by-the-possibility-of-imminent-death types. But no ordinary people.)

Mom always said, I was not OK, and I needed to improve a lot.

An imposed discipline, a forced regime, an apologetic promise were created to assure her, that I intended to be good.

The New Year Resolutions were framed and hung on the wall, to remind me of my inadequacies.

I can’t recall when Mom’s/ Boss’s voice became my inner voice, and I continued to rebel against myself.

Resolutions, like promises, are meant to be broken. After all, I’m OK.

Good afternoon, beautiful people. I know I share so much, but to share on a deeper level: I really don’t believe in “New Year’s Resolutions.” Those are temporary and are usually superficial. No. I engage in New Year’s Transformations. I have been through a lot in recent years, and 2016 wasn’t any different. Friends came and went; lovers or potentials came and went; creative projects succeeded or failed. I laughed a lot; I cried a lot. I worked hard, I had fun. I loved. When I love, I love DEEP. I don’t play with hearts and I keep it real; even though you will run into those who don’t have the courage to do the same. That’s just a part of life. But through all the joy and pain, I kept true to myself. As for me. I was TINA. I am still Tina. I will always be me. I am a stronger, wiser, healthier version of me, but I am still here. I survived so many things with a smile through the tears, because I decided a long time ago that no one will make me feel down on myself. Ever. I love what I love, I am who I am, I love who I am. You should love who you are. Continue reading Goodbye, Resolutions: Hello, Transformations (2 min read)

If  I ask you how 2016 treated you, are you are proud to say that it’s been a great year? I hope you are. Did you fulfill all your goals? Is there an additional member of your family? Did you gain a lot of friends? Have you fast-track your career? These are the things that we ask before we leave the current year. Of course, we are all looking forward to a great start of the new year but we should also take a moment to reflect and acknowledge all the wonderful things the year 2016 gave us. I remember posting this last year on Facebook the exact same day as today; Continue reading New Year, New Beginnings (3 min read)
