Elegance. Class. Character. Manners. The world today is filled with tabloids and reality shows, hardly any of the headliners on a regular basis even somewhat allude to one of the four words that can all define and describe a lady.
To be a lady is an art. To be a lady is to be cherished. To be a lady is to be respected. It may not be easy, but the life of a lady is one well spent.
I’m Devoreaux, a style and etiquette blogger at The Prep Pursuit. I often talk about the difference between a woman and a lady on both my blog and my YouTube channel. Every female is a woman; but not every woman is a lady. A lady is defined as a woman who is polite, refined and well-spoken in everyday encounters.
Growing up in the southern region of the United States, I’ve never considered anything other than being kind, respectful and pleasant to others in daily life. But the older I get, the more I find that my outlook on life is rare. I’m trying to change that. Bring back class and manners. Make it cool again.
The most important thing about being a lady is that you put others first. The golden rule stays true throughout all thoughts and actions, always do unto others as you would have them do to you.
Being a lady is a challenge, but the life of a lady is certainly well worth it and always an enjoyable one!
