Signs, signs everywhere are signs. Yard art has become quite popular in the burbs! I would venture to say that yard signs did some damage to the bumper sticker industry. Just when we thought the coast was clear, the yard sign companies steamed rolled over car stickers right into our front yard!

“I believe in the person I want to become.”

New years resolutions are aspects of yourself and life that you want to improve on or add to. It’s an opportunity for greater success with some people but for others, it may be a sinking pit to an inevitable failure. Here is how to set goals for the new year that will last.

Firstly it is essential to realize the things that you have held yourself back from this past year, things like speaking to people, taking a chance or building a career. There are millions of reasons(shyness, laziness, fear) that may have stopped you from doing them and it is important to recognize those factors so you can improve on them this year.

Secondly, think about the new traits/actions that you want to adopt into your life. Use the habits that successful people in your niche have incorporated into their lives. Remember not to use like 100 ways to upgrade yourself as that is not very realistic. Pick an amount that you feel you will stick to and achieve.

The last part of making real new years resolutions is writing them down. Creating some type of physical list with your resolutions allows you to visibly see them every day which will be a constant reminder of who you want to become. A crucial part of writing each one down is to also write how you’re going to accomplish each goal.

Examples:

1. Begin working out, I will start by going to the gym every weekday

2. Not letting fear control me, I will do something that scares me every month

3. Make more money, I will work overtime and make money online

Let me know if you found this advice helpful and comment what your new year’s resolutions are!!

SMART stands for Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic and Time. When setting a goal (long-term or short-term) it needs to be specific, the more specific the better. For example one of my goals this year is to get down to a BMI of 20%. Measurable for my goal means to be able to check in weekly (weekly weigh ins) and see if I am coming any closer to my BMI goal. If your goals are more mental try keeping a journal to track yourself. Is your goal achievable? It is great to set high goals but…you want to be able to check it off. Something that would be a good example of this is if my goal was to get a BMI of 20% by tomorrow…probably not going to happen. Which brings us to being realistic.

Last week Dallas, Fort Worth experienced several rainy dismal days in a row. My sweet dog, FAITH, is a total brat. She’s way too good to go outside in the cold wet rain. She’s such a puppy snob that one of us has to walk her out and coerce her to potty outside.

No matter how you slice it, some exercises are just plain brutal. Nobody, and I mean no one gets giddy with glee when it’s time for a set of burpies! In my opinion, the same goes, for heavens holy sake, running lines, bleachers, or stairs. ARGHHH! Continue reading Shred It, Don’t Dread It! (2 min read
